CRN ON event pledges a tree for every attendee

Everyone attending the ESG-themed event in December will have their journey offset after tree-planting partnership

When talking about sustainability and ESG it is important to practice what you preach, and Agilitas is doing just that with its joint CRN event in December.

The firm has partnered with JUST ONE Tree to ensure every attendee to the CRN On event entitled A focus on Planet, People and Partners are essential in building a sustainable future for channel businesses, has a tree planted in their name to offset their journey into London.

Amanda Bronkhorst, CEO and founder of JUST ONE Tree, said companies must do all they can to help in the battle against global warming.

"Reforestation as nature intended is absolutely vital in our fight against climate change," Bronkhorst said. "Thanks to the supporters of JUST ONE Tree, we've planted nearly 2.5 million trees in just a few years. These trees have helped absorb hundreds of thousands of tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere as well as increasing wildlife habitat and providing sustainable incomes to local communities.

"With travel increasing post-pandemic across the globe, it's now more important than ever that people pledge to increase tree cover, not only to offset the emissions they can't avoid, but also to help fight the biodiversity crisis," she added.

Originally set to take place next month, but rescheduled due to the planned rail strikes, the event is now taking place on Wednesday 7 December, at One Moorgate Place in London.

The event has an impressive array of speakers, including renowned sustainability expert Jake Backus. He will be delivering a thought-provoking keynote on the real impact of centuries of profiteering and consumerism and what steps firms need to take to tackle the threats against our global ecosystems.
