Avnet gets unified with Xrio
Bandwidth management vendor keen to grow UK market share after signing distribution agreement
Avnet Technology Solutions has bolstered its Unified Communications (UC) portfolio after signing a distribution partnership with Xrio.
Under the terms of the deal, Avnet will supply Xrio’s Unified Bandwidth Management (UBM) devices and solutions to its UK partner base under its UC practice.
The distributor claims the partnership will help its VARs bring multiple communications technologies together such as fixed and mobile telephony, video conferencing, email, IM and voice messaging into one communications environment.
Wayne Gratton, director of UC at Avnet Technology Solutions, EMEA said: “Five years ago, if a company wanted increased capacity for their network it needed to look at implementing a leased line solution, which was very expensive.
"With the unified bonding technologies from Xrio, Avnet business partners are now able to provide enterprise-level connectivity at a significantly reduced cost, which is critical if smaller businesses are to take advantage of bandwidth-hungry applications such as video conferencing or virtualised business communications technologies,” he said.
