Infinigate Group has appointed Alexandre Remy as its new chief strategy and M&A officer, alongside the launch of Infinigate Italy.

Through this new regional branch, headquartered in Milan, the country’s financial capital, the Swiss distie will aim to intercept IT growth trends in Italy and respond to vendor demand for channel support.

US-based software provider Progress Software has joined Infinigate’s portfolio in the region.

To drive its new operations, the firm has hired Corrado Farina as sales director at Infinigate Italy.

Farina brings European experience, joining from Capefoxx, where he was key account manager for Italy and Benelux.

He brings 26 years of accountancy experience in tech, previously holding leadership positions at organisations such as Microsoft, Relicense, and Cips Informatica.

“I am thrilled with the appointment as sales director at Infinigate Italy and I look forward to scaling our presence and driving growth within the local market, both organically and acquisitively,” said Farina.

“The channel opportunity related to cybersecurity is substantial and Infinigate benefits from the credentials and deep expertise to forge strong relationships locally.

“We are proud to extend our partnership with Progress Software and bring the benefits of their innovative solutions to local channel partners in Italy.”

This increased focus on Italy comes as the distributor has strengthened its presence across Europe over the last year.

Since last September, it has signed pan-European deals with vendors such as Fortra, Progress Software, CYREBRO, Sekoia.io, Acronis, Seclore, SonicWall, EnGenius, Guardz, Cloudflare, Mimecast, WatchGuard, Trellix, Yubico, Skyhigh, Exabeam, WithSecure, Torq, Keepnet, Threema, Swissbit, Check Point, and Barracuda.

Alexandre Remy becomes chief strategy and M&A officer

The company also promotes from within, as it has named Alexandre Remy as its new chief strategy and M&A officer.

Remy joined Infinigate in 2022 as VP of digital business.

In January this year he was appointed as VP of strategy and M&A.

His career in the channel started ten years ago, when Remy was hired by French distributor Exclusive Networks as global operation consultant.

The strategy and M&A leader made his way up during his six and a half years at the company, taking on the role of strategy and transformation director in 2017, before becoming director of X-OD, Exclusive’s digital and on-demand distribution platform.

This appointment comes three months after Marco van Kalleveen became CEO of the company.

Van Kalleveen went on to LinkedIn to announce Remy’s appointment, of whom he said that “talent immediately stood out in the first meeting [he] had with him.”

“He brings not only deep industry experience and outstanding strategic talent, but also proven deal-execution skills,” said the CEO.

“In just three months’ time, he has already proven to be instrumental in shaping our exciting new growth strategy and M&A pipeline.”
