Avnet ups Avaya ante

Distribution behemoth increases support offerings as it looks to grow Avaya market share

Avnet has boosted its Avaya support offering as it looks to grow sales of the vendor’s unified communications (UC) portfolio.

The distribution giant has set in place a support programme for Avaya, which includes the provision of office space and deployment of the latest Avaya technology in its THEresource demonstration centre, as well as offering specialist training and education on new Avaya products and markets.

Avnet also recently expanded its specialist Avaya team, which now comprises 20 employees with knowledge and expertise across sales, technical and marketing.

Their remit will be to support existing Avaya partners and also liaise with new ones in the SMB space.

Tony McNish, Avaya business manager at Avnet Technology Solutions UK, said: “Avnet is fast becoming the ‘go-to’ distributor of choice for innovative Avaya partners. Since our relationship first began, it has gone from strength to strength and we are investing heavily in a growing team to support our Avaya business. As a services company, employees are Avnet’s greatest asset and we remain committed to ensuring that Avnet has the skills and expertise needed to accelerate the success of its partners across every area of the Avaya portfolio.”

Lee Shorten (pictured), UK and Ireland managing director of Avaya, said: “Avaya puts partners at the heart of its business in order to serve customers even more successfully. We believe the combination of our technology and Avnet’s expertise in delivering solutions, in addition to its excellent distribution track record, will help our partners build effective converged solutions.”
