Ex-Azlan man Shepperd replaces Shorten as Avaya UK boss

Andrew Shepperd appointed vendor's UK chief as Lee Shorten hits road to pursue other opportunities

Former Azlan boss Andrew Shepperd is to take over as UK boss of Avaya, with incumbent Lee Shorten moving on to "pursue other opportunities".

Shepperd spent more than three years in charge at Azlan UK, departing in January 2010. Prior to that, he served as EMEA channel sales director at CA between 2003 and 2006.

Around the turn of the century, he also spent another six-year stint at Computer 2000, fulfilling the role of security, networking and comms chief. He has now been appointed as managing director and area sales leader for Avaya UK and Ireland.

He replaces Lee Shorten, who spent more than two years as UK boss, having joined in 2009 from thermal imaging camera vendor Irisys.

Earlier in his career, he spent six years working in a business development role at vendor Symbol, according to his LinkedIn profile.
