RGB adds kit from Celerity Technologies
Up to 1,000ft of fibre optic HDMI connectivity possible
Video specialist RGB Communications has signed an exclusive UK and Ireland distribution agreement with audiovisual components maker Celerity Technologies.
The deal is to onsell Celerity's pre-terminated fibre optic cable with detachable HDMI connector. According to RGB, this cable design eliminates the complexities often associated with deploying fibre optic HDMI solutions over distance.
"Historically, installation of fibre optic HDMI solutions has been fraught with complications, from a limit on the available length of cable, to damage to the cable itself during installation," RGB said in a press statement.
This will help resellers send images and audio further than the typical 15 metres of copper cable for good-quality audiovisual deployments allows. The UL-910 Plenum-rated cable is also easy to install through small holes, the distributor said.
Pure fibre optic is "completely immune" to electromagnetic interference, according to RGB. Celerity also offers technology that can bring sound from the TV back to a compatible receiver.
