West Hertfordshire NHS tenders for £30m-£50m in IT services
Suppliers asked to bid on five-year paperless hospital deal supporting 3,950 staff
Services providers and resellers have been invited to tender for an infrastructure services contract worth £30m to £50m with the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
The Hertfordshire Supply Management Confederation (HSMC) project, expected to take five years with an option to extend for seven, is about digitising the Trust operation to support mobile working and a paperless hospital environment for about 3,950 full-time staff initially, and eventually up to 7,900 staff.
"The Trust may wish to extend, during the term of the contract, the ICT Infrastructure Services to cover potential clinical or information systems, business applications, integration and portals and digital service user engagement, such as telehealth," according to the OJEU notice.
The implementation envisaged encompasses client hardware, software and support, as well as unified communications, mobility, hosting, videoconferencing, storage, printing, and networking. The Trust wants to cut paper use and other costs as well as improve customer service and services around administration.
The supplier will be appointed in November. Deadline for tenders is 22 May with invitations sent on 5 June. Contact HSMC's David Evershed by emailing [email protected] or phoning 01707 356158 for more details.
