Avaya smooths quotes and orders with One Source
Avaya's latest announcement could simplify EMEA reseller ordering from July
Resellers of Avaya business communication and collaboration ware may finally be getting some relief from navigating thousands of price groups and hundreds of catalogues as the vendor moves to streamline and simplify the ordering process for its channel partners.
Later this year, the Basking Ridge, New Jersey, company will introduce Avaya One Source, an integrated quoting and ordering system to help speed up the often tedious task of finding and pricing gear. Shaving time off the process for partners should accelerate the creation of client proposals and reduce order cycle times.
The company also announced three new logical suites of Aura UC offerings.
On the ordering side, Avaya One Source will encompass the vendor's entire portfolio of unified communications (UC), contact centre, networking, and SMB offerings. The initiative will hit EMEA and APAC first in July, with availability for the North America set for Q4 2013, according to staff.
"Avaya One Source provides our partners with a powerful new way to handle all of their pricing and ordering needs with greater velocity through a consolidated approach," claimed Tom Mitchell, senior vice president of global sales at Avaya.
"Everything a partner needs to speed responses to customers is in a single web-based location, backed by an e-business model driven by efficient flow and simplified access."
When it goes live, Avaya One Source will consolidate 1,400 Avaya material price groups down to just 13 and combines more than 200 pricing catalogues into one. The initiative also comes with a redesigned secure landing page where partners can access catalogs and quote tools, get real-time pricing, initiate special pricing requests, share quotes with distributors, and view and place orders.
In addition to the One Source initiative, Avaya this week also introduced three new Aura UC application suites to replace the vendor's existing Standard and Enterprise Editions. The new, progressive suites are more finely tuned to specific business needs with simplified pricing and significantly lower TCO, officials claim.
The three new UC suites are:
Foundation: Basic enterprise-wide architecture for communications, including SIP-enabled clients, core telephony, messaging, instant messaging/presence and desktop video clients.
Mobility: All of the Foundation suite features with additional capabilities for remote workers such as single number access, BYOD features and secure remote access.
Collaboration: Adds to the Mobility suite a number of collaboration capabilities such as video and multi-modal conferencing.
The new Aura UC suites are available now.
