Perfect ten for BT and Avaya's utility cloud service

4Net is tenth reseller to come on board for Avaya Cloud Solution, despite it not even having been launched yet

BT Wholesale and Avaya have signed the tenth reseller for their yet-to-launch utility cloud service.

The duo lifted the veil on Avaya Cloud Solution last summer and have since been busy signing up early adopter partners ahead of its launch, which will be "later this year".

The tie-up will see BT Wholesale deliver Avaya's UC and contact centre applications as a cloud service to mid-market and enterprise customers, via the indirect channel.

Delivered over BT Wholesale's managed Ethernet network, the "pay-as-you-grow"-style service is designed to allow resellers to add capacity and services as and when their customers require it, leading the duo to bill it as the UK's "first genuine utility cloud service".

Comms specialist 4Net is the tenth early adopter partner to clamber on board. It joins Comec, Digital Exchange Products, Exchange Communications, G3 Comms, IP Integration, Maintel, Reeves Lund, Pennine Communications and Worldstone.

James Hennah, director of channel and carrier at BT Wholesale, said: "The shift from on-site to cloud-based services is gaining momentum and we are looking forward to working with our partners to lead that charge."

The service will be available only from Avaya-accredited partners through BT Wholesale, the duo stressed when they unveiled their five-year partnership last August.

Joe Manuele, vice president of global SP-SI, alliances and cloud at Avaya, said: "The eagerness of our channel partners to adopt Avaya Cloud Solutions as part of their portfolio confirms we are delivering a service that provides the level of flexibility, scalability and reliability that end customers want."
