Samsung left with sole UC distie after Exertis departure

Distributor recently made an acquisition to 'deepen its entanglement' with the key vendor partner

Nimans has become the exclusive distributor of Samsung unified communications (UC) in the UK, with the vendor no longer working with Exertis on its UC offering.

While Exertis did not make a formal comment to CRN, it confirmed to us that it will still be distributing Samsung's UC equipment until 22 December.

The development comes just months after Exertis looked to bolster its bond with Samsung by acquiring Essex-based 60-man mobile phone and tablet refurbishment outfit MTR for an undisclosed sum.

At the time, Exertis said MTR's tight partnership with Samsung will enable the distributor to "deepen its entanglement" with what is one of its key vendors.

Nimans has also been named best partner (UK) in the 2017 Samsung Enterprise Best Partner Awards which culminated in a global conference at the communication giant's South Korean headquarters.

The distributor's director of channel sales, Richard Carter, and head of category sales, Paul Burn, headed off to Seoul for the Global Sales and Marketing Conference.

"The award caps a year to remember for our expanded Samsung team as it reinforces our exclusive status as Samsung's country distributor for unified communications in the UK," said Burn.

"We now have a direct working relationship with Samsung in Korea and our visit was a great way to forge ever closer working relationships so that we can offer even more enhanced levels of service to our growing Samsung customer base."

Burn added: "We were able to interact and share ideas not only with senior Samsung officials but also our counterparts from across the world. It was a great experience."
