HP cuts ribbon on new UK headquarters
Vendor continues 30-year history in Berkshire with new office
HP has opened its new UK HQ in Thames Valley Park, continuing its 30-year presence in Berkshire.
The new headquarters will be located in the park's Earley Buildings, replacing the previous main facility which was established in Bracknell in 1988.
A number of major departments will be housed at the site, including customer support, finance, HP Store, IT, legal and sales operations. Most of the UK's leadership team will be based in the new building.
"The new Thames Valley Park office is the latest chapter in HP's long history in the UK," said George Brasher, UK&I MD at HP.
"As well as the park being home to existing partners of ours, such as Microsoft and Computacenter, the whole Thames Valley region represents the heartbeat of this country's tech sector. The continued presence of our HQ in Berkshire will ensure we are as accessible as can be for our partners and the wider industry."
The new HQ is designed to fit in with the nature reserve on which Thames Valley Park is situated, as well as the organisation's commitment to sustainability.
This includes being decorated with natural colours and a living moss wall in its reception area. It has been designed with the goal of achieving a 'very good' environmental certificate from sustainability assessment body BREEAM.
Matt Warman, government minister for digital, stated: "It is great to see that global tech giant HP has renewed its commitment to the UK by opening a new headquarters in Reading.
"The UK is one of the world's leading digital economies, with a hugely talented workforce, a business-friendly environment and fantastic universities. This government is working hard to continue this success with huge skills, infrastructure and R&D investment."
