Nordic reseller Atea ranked 'world's most sustainable IT services company'

Atea has been ranked the world's most sustainable company in the IT Services Division and 51st overall in the Global 100 Index 2022 published by Corporate Knight.

The Global 100 Index is an annual ranking by the research and media company of the world's 100 most sustainable corporations based on an assessment of nearly 7,000 public companies with revenues of more than $1bn.

Atea's sustainability efforts have earned first-time recognition and ranking by the globally respected research firm.

"It is a great honour to be recognised by Corporate Knights as a global leader in sustainability," said Atea CEO Steinar Sønsteby.

"At Atea, we're committed to performance, not just promises, in our corporate responsibility efforts.

"We look forward to continuing our work with customers and vendors to promote sustainable practices within IT for the benefit of the world we all share together."

This latest milestone adds to Atea's list of achievements in the area of sustainability.

The Nordic reseller was awarded the highest rating (top one per cent of 85,000 organisations globally) in environmental and social performance by supplier sustainability evaluator, EcoVadis.

The group received an A-rating for ESG Reporting at the Oslo Stock Exchange in 2020 and 2021, and last year was ranked among a select group of European companies that have made the greatest progress in curbing their greenhouse gas emissions by the Financial Times and data powerhouse, Statista.

In September, Atea's director of corporate responsibility and chief sustainability officer, Andreas Antonsen, sat down with Channel Partner Insight to discuss the key ways the value-added-reseller is playing its part in sustainability in the channel.
