Rejoose let loose to supercharge channel net zero targets

Danish SaaS specialist will enable channel customers to automatically report the carbon footprint of their IT solutions and get a handle on scope three emissions

Rejoose let loose to supercharge channel net zero targets

With over 240 million data points built up over the last 12 years, SaaS specialist Rejoose is poised to revolutionise the way channel firms worldwide tackle their growing sustainability responsibilities by giving them access to fully compliant energy and climate data on over 5.6 million SKUs.

Unlike other players in the market, Rejoose has moved away from spend-based methodology, and is focused on activity-based methodology, a far more reliable way to report carbon emissions under legislation such as the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

The technology, which was developed in the Nordics is now set to spread across EMEA, into the US and APAC, will help channel firms quickly identify and deal with high emissions areas in their product and service portfolios, directly benefitting the environment and the planet.

Industry veteran Matthew Ruskin (pictured), founder and managing director of Channel Edge, has joined the firm as chief commercial officer to drive uptake among major channel players. He claims it is the first product in the market that pushes against greenwashing.

He explained the data, which is immediately available, is based on country of use, company use, department use, energy consumption and lifecycle.

The millions of data points already in the database are growing by a whopping 12,000 a day, including stock in distribution and build to order, Ruskin added.

"We are not just talking about laptops and servers, this covers every product in your pocket, on your desk and in the datacentre," he explained.

"This platform benefits the entire channel from the end customer, right up to the vendor. I am speaking to people who are real sustainability experts and they are saying that this technology is both groundbreaking and game-changing," he said. "We want to be the de-facto source for all IT product carbon emissions globally."

Using the data, ESG leads can take proper action to reduce emissions within a reporting period, rather than just waiting for the end of a period to take retrospective action, Ruskin said.

"These people can go into steering committees, say ‘here is where we are' and then show a forecast of emissions data and explain what they need to do to action it," he said. "It is a truly unique product that can help firms differentiate themselves from the competition. We are already signing up the biggest names in the reseller and distributor space, and are talking with several vendors about how we can integrate our technology. It is very exciting."
