M&A veteran joins Six Degrees
Former Vodafone director Peter Bamford says newborn managed data services outfit has compelling vision
Newborn VAR Six Degrees has brought in former Vodafone bigwig Peter Bamford to help steer its growth strategy.
Bamford (pictured) has joined the managed data services specialist as a non-executive director following the firm's formal launch in October.
Known for his track record in M&A, Bamford was a board director at Vodafone between 1998 and 2006 and prior to this was managing director at WH Smith Retail.
Six Degrees chief executive Alastair Mills, who sold previous venture SpiriTel to Daisy a year ago, said Bamford's appointment is a testament to the firm's ambitious strategy.
"Peter is a highly prominent figure in British industry and brings a wealth of M&A, technology and marketing experience to the group," said Mills.
Bamford, who is currently chairman of clothing company SuperGroup, said Mills and his team had a "compelling vision" and "track record of delivery".
"The managed data services market is an exciting and fast-growing sector and Six Degrees Group is well positioned to capitalise on that growth opportunity with its integrated product portfolio," he said. "I feel that I can add value from my experiences of growing and developing companies and I am very much looking forward to being part of the Six Degrees Group team."
