Softcat transforms HQ into Covid-19 vaccination centre

MD Richard Wyn Griffith tells CRN that Softcat got involved with the scheme through Marlow Town Council

Softcat has transformed its head office into a vaccination centre as part of the NHS' vaccine rollout programme.

The reseller has opened up a dedicated wing of its ground floor office in Marlow Globe Park, with the first vaccines being administered over the weekend, Softcat said in a Twitter post.

"We are so proud that from tomorrow our #SoftcatHQ offices in Marlow will be used as a life-saving COVID-19 vaccination centre. We feel honoured to be able to do our small part to support the #NHS in this way," the post reads.

Speaking to CRN, MD Richard Wyn Griffith said that offering up Softcat's HQ was a "no-brainer" after they were approached by Marlow Town Council during the Christmas period.

"When it came up, it was a bit of a no brainer because it was something we could do and we had the capacity to do. We had a couple of discussions and showed the NHS around, and part of our building was suitable to take part. We're just really glad to be involved with playing a part to be giving something back."

Wyn Griffith emphasised that Softcat is just one of many businesses trying to help the NHS fight the Covid virus.

"We're looking at this as one of many initiatives we're to trying out to help as much as we can, like many of our peers and people within the channel," he said.

"There's an opportunity for other people to think, ‘I didn't realise we could do that'. If other businesses within our channel read CRN and say ‘we're going to go to our town council and see if we can help too', that's great. That's exactly what I would love to take from an article like this."
