Wick Hill chairman Ian Kilpatrick discusses what winning Security Distributor of the Year for the third time in a row means for his firm

Outline Wick Hill‘s strategy

Our strategy is the pursuit of excellence in everything that we do, to support our channel partners and our small focused portfolio of suppliers in their success.

What has been the highlight of 2016 for your business?

Our continued very strong expansion within the Nuvias Group.

How pleased are you to have won?

We're delighted to have won this for an unprecedented third time in a row. We're only too aware of how difficult it is to win, and it's a recognition of everything that everyone in the team strives to achieve.

How has the award been received in the company so far? How did you celebrate?

Everyone is delighted; it's an award for everyone for all their efforts over the year. I ran around the offices waving the trophy, we put it in the trophy cabinet alongside our other CRN Security Distributor of the Year awards, and we will continue the celebrations in a week or so.

What would you say is your greatest achievement in 2016?

Continuing to grow and change and delivering new services and solutions for our channel partners, while successfully integrating into Nuvias.

How important is the channel to your business?

As a distributor for around 40 years, the channel is and has been our lifeblood. We are 100 per cent channel; it's in our DNA. Our partners' success is what leads to our success.

What difference will winning this award make to your business in 2017?

It's a validation of who we are and what we do. I also hope that any partners that don't work with us give us the opportunity to show why we are different from the majority of distributors.
