Joint managing director, Caretower

What is your greatest career move to date?

My current role as a managing director at Caretower.

What is top of your bucket list?

To play a round of golf at the world-famous Augusta National Golf Club where the annual Masters is held.

What has changed most since you started working in the channel?

There has been an increase in the number of vendors we partner with, with more specialist vendors than before. Due to the complexity of security, new vendors drive innovation and keeping pace with this change is challenging but also exciting as there is always something new to learn.

How do you think Brexit is going to affect the channel?

It may cause customers to delay projects in an industry where investment is constantly required and has had many headlines over the last 18 months.

What is your least favourite task during the working day?

Dealing with the problematic side of HR.

If you were an animal, what would you be?

This is something that I have never given any thought to and so I outsourced this to the team and they came up with probably a lion due to my leadership role, but also due to the fact that I am decisive when it comes to making decisions and also protective of my team. They were obviously kind to me.

If you won the big one on EuroMillions, what would you do?

I enjoy my job so I would continue working and cannot see myself not working. I would though take a year off work and travel the world with my family and kids, which would be an amazing experience to spend such time with the family.

What is your worst habit?

Annoying my partner.

How has 2016 been for you?

It has been a good year. However, it has presented its own challenges such as Brexit and the changing landscape of the security industry.

If you didn't work in the IT channel, what would be your dream career?

I have always wanted to be a business owner - which I am - and therefore can say I am currently in my dream role. I enjoy sport, so my dream career outside of Caretower would have be something sport-related.

What major issues will the channel face in 2017?

Brexit may present an issue to the channel in 2017. However, it is still too early to be sure of the impact.
