Ingram Micro’s new UK boss-to-be has turned down the role before he officially started, and taken a new job outside the distribution giant.
As revealed by CRN earlier this year, Pablo Suarez, head of the firm's Miami export group, was set to step into the UK managing director vacancy left by the earlier departure of Julian Klein.
Robyn Tingley, vice president of human resources at Ingram Micro, said that " unexpected delays" in securing a work visa for his transfer from Miami to the UK, combined with an " attractive offer" of a role in Miami, means Suarez has taken a role outside Ingram Micro.
“While we are disappointed to see Pablo leave, we wish him well in his future pursuits," she said. "Having joined our organisation 15 years ago, Pablo has made a significant contribution to Ingram Micro. On behalf of the entire Ingram Micro team, we want to thank him for his contribution.”
In the meantime, Johan Vandenbussche has been appointed as interim UK managing director, operating from the distributor’s Milton Keynes offices.
“This transition will be seamless for our vendors and customers, given Johan’s past experience and the strong UK management team,” Tingley said.
The search is underway to find a permanent replacement, she confirmed.
