Chief executive, Printerland

Career so far

I have been 21 years at the helm of Printerland - and we just keep getting stronger!

What was your first job and were you any good at it?

I was a drayman for Whitbread Brewery - I was rubbish at working, but good at drinking.

Who was your top teenage pin-up?

Margaret Thatcher.

My colleagues won't know this about me but...

Believe it or not, I'm actually a nice guy.

What is your favourite snack?

Pickled onion Monster Munch.

What has been your career high point to date?

Being crowned Digital Entrepreneur of the Year.

Has 2013 been good, bad or ugly?

Very good. We've had another record year.

What do you say when asked at a party what you do for a living?

I'm a 747 airline pilot and, when they doubt me, I show them photographic evidence of me flying one. That soon shuts them up!

If I wasn't working in the channel I would probably be...

A lollipop man.

What will be the channel's biggest challenge in 2014?

Losing its obsession with cloud.
