Managing director, Kelway

What was the worst job you have ever had?
Definitely selling double glazing door-to-door. I lasted about 10 days.

Which actor would you pick to play you in a movie of your life?
Tough question. How about Robson Green? He's from Newcastle so at least he wouldn't have to work on the accent.

What do you do as your party trick? Normally falling asleep and wanting to go home early.

What is your favourite chocolate bar? Definitely a Mars.

What has been the highlight of your career to date? I think getting Kelway to £500m was a goal that would have to be my career highlight to date.

Has 2014 been a good, bad or ugly year? Good for Kelway by almost any measure.

How would you explain the IT channel to a stranger without boring them to death? We're the guys that supply, implement and support all the technology that businesses use to run their operations.

Aside from the channel, my dream career would be... still playing for Newcastle (isn't this everyone's?).

What major issues will the channel face in 2015? 2015 will continue to see the line between manufacturer, distributor and reseller blur, particularly in the provision of cloud and other managed services. This continues to challenge the way in which Kelway looks at the market and I think will be increasingly disruptive moving forward.
