RK Distribution has reorganised to focus on its storage and peripherals business and to move away from networking. Last Friday, the firm laid off its networking product manager and its technical manager of networks. But joint MD John Milner said no telesales staff had been let go. ?We?re mainly a data storage and peripherals distributor and while we had been looking at acquiring a networking business, we?ve decided to change our focus. We are now looking at slotting the networking group into existing business.? He said that this did not mean RK Distribution would necessarily abandon networking. It was still a matter of focus for the company. He did not say which networking distributors RK had talked to in its bid to acquire expertise.
