Summit Corporate Finance has launched a recruitment drive for dealers to sell its Complete Computer Cover (CCC) insurance policies.
The firm is looking for about 50 resellers, particularly those in the retail market and selling into small corporates. It has about 30 resellers at the moment and also sells through insurance brokers, leasing companies and computer manufacturers. Summit?s biggest channel deal is with SCH.
Summit director David Milner said dealers will receive commission on all CCC policies they sell, but will be asked to repair or resupply any damaged or stolen equipment covered by them. ?We have field sales people who will act as account managers for the CCC resellers and will offer incentives and around 10 per cent margins,? he said.
The policy is a joint venture between Royal and Sun Alliance, Summit and Lowndes Lambert UK, which will administer the scheme. Milner said Summit had few direct rivals for CCC, because although computers could be covered under general contents insurance, CCC has no excess charges or additional security requirements.
The policy covers all types of computer equipment, providing all-risks insurance against total loss and accidental damage in one- two- or three-year policies.
