Merisel UK MD Richard North is expected to leave the distributor this week after just nine weeks in charge, as predicted in PC Dealer last month.
North, who rejoined Merisel when Derek Anderson left in August, was tipped to leave when CHS Electronics took over Merisel Europe four weeks ago.
Sue Miller-Smith, VP of Merisel Europe until the CHS deal is complete at the end of November, said no official comment can be made on North, until the transaction is completed today.
'Then, Garry Boon will be UK MD of the company, but until then Richard North is MD. He has not said what he will do after that, but I hope Richard will have another role with the firm,' she said.
But a Merisel insider said: 'I believe it is the case that he is leaving, although it has not been officially confirmed yet. That is because nothing can be announced as both Merisel and CHS are publicly listed.'
Three weeks ago PC Dealer also revealed that Boon will take over at the combined CHS/ Merisel in the UK.
