Call centre specialist Stream International has launched what it claims is the first dedicated business unit to provide complete call centre solutions to systems integrators.
The move is an attempt by Stream to boost sales in the European call centre market, which according to analyst Gartner Group is worth $391 million a year.
Stream has signed partnership deals with a number of helpdesk software vendors, including Scopus Technology, Sunrise Software, S&S International and End-to-End Customer Services.
Scopus Technology representative Janet Withall said manufacturers would benefit from having access to a wider range of customers and customers would benefit from a simplified sales process.
Stream call centre business unit manager Fraser Bell said the unit was necessary because the UK's call centre market was still relatively immature.
'Systems integrators are only meeting specific elements of IT support, customer service or sales rather than a business solution,' he said.
Stream International is centralising its European marketing and has appointed Clarissa Roberts as European marcoms director. Roberts was formerly UK marcoms manager.
