Panasonic?s latest slimline multimedia notebook, weighing in at 2.2kg, is the first of its size to offer a 10-speed CD-Rom drive.
The drive on the CF-35 is optional and can be swapped for the floppy drive. The two drives can be connected by external cable if they are needed simultaneously.
The notebook also features a zoomed video (ZV) port, which can be used in conjunction with the ZV Mpeg card for full-screen, full-motion Mpeg I video at between 25 and 30 frames per second.
The TFT LCD screen displays 65,536 colours from a palette of 262,144 at a resolution of 800x600 SVGA. The screen is also protected by alloy magnesium casing.
Particularly useful for mobile users, the lightweight Lithium-Ion battery offers five hours? use from a single 360g battery pack. To enhance portability further, the hard drive is mounted in a protective shock-absorbing gel.
The CF-35 comes with a choice of Intel processors ? the Pentium 150MHz with MMX, or the 133MHz.
