Xerox has expanded its fax distribution line-up, signing Midwich Thame amid speculation that the peripherals maker was having problems with existing distribution partners.
The distributor joins Westcoast and Qudis as Xerox's third fax and printer partner.
Bob Horastead, Xerox UK channel operations manager, admitted existing partners were unhappy about the extra competition. But he said: 'We told them it was going to happen, it was just a question of the right time.
Midwich was a natural extension because they already do printers for us.'
Alex Ward, Xerox product manager at Midwich Thame, was pleased to win the contract. 'We've been wanting to supply Xerox for the past six months to give us a stronger product line,' he said. 'We were the only ones in December with the whole range in stock.'
Midwich claimed that reseller margins on Xerox's fax range will start at 26 per cent. All models come with first year on-site or swap-out warranty.
