Resellers, who fancy themselves as the next Tiger Woods or Nick Faldo, will get a chance to show off their golfing skills at the major channel tournament of the year. PC Dealer Masters 97, organised in conjunction with Ingram Micro, will consist of three regional events to be held around the country at the end of August. The winners of the regional competitions will then go head-to-head against each other in the final. The format of the tournament is different from last year when golfers had to reach a certain standard to go through to the next round. Nigel Judd, marketing director at Ingram Micro, said: ?I think the PC Dealer Masters Tournament is well established. It is in its third year and we are very pleased to be associated with it. It is different as it is an innovative programme.? He added that while there was an element of mixing business with pleasure in the industry, this tends not to happen on a collective basis, which is something that the PC Dealer Master Tournament offers. The three regional events will be held on 24 July at Mill Ride golf course, Ascot; 29 July at Tytherington, Macclesfield; and 31 July at Herts Golf Club. While the entry fee is #50, the organisers are hoping to encourage companies to pay the fee to pitch themselves against rival dealers, rather than as individuals.
