3M eases work, wrist and play

3M is aiming to make life more comfortable for keyboard users with a range of gel-filled adjustable wrist rests.

The rests are available in deep blue, grey and charcoal. They are intended to reduce wrist fatigue and discomfort, and 3M claims they can reduce the risks of repetitive strain injury for regular keyboard users.

Designed to promote a neutral wrist position, the rests are made of a special gel developed at 3M's healthcare division. They support the shape of a user's wrists and encourage the reduction of stress on pressure points.

The healthcare division also developed the fabric that covers the rests.

It is a soft, non-woven material, which is intended to be gentle on the skin and avoid friction. The fabric is also heat and moisture resistant.

Carol Hurley, marketing manager at 3M Stationery & Office Supplies, said: 'Colour co-ordination has become important in offices. Our customers demanded a choice and we have responded with colours that received the most positive feedback during our recent research.'

The rests cost between #26.03 and #51.98.
