Rapid Gen takes a hard pounding
Software firm Rapid Gen Systems came under the spotlight this month after its owner, Margaret Moore, told The Sun newspaper she had been beaten up by her lover, former England cricketer Geoff Boycott.
The London firm has also had its troubles, after successfully fending off eight winding up petitions this year, including one issued by HM Customs and Excise at Leeds District Registry Office.
Two county court judgements were issued against the company during August and September for #3,087 and #1,450 respectively.
The legal onslaught combined with 1994 figures stating Rapid Gen had a net worth of minus #536,000 have led to reports that the firm was in financial difficulties.
But a company representative denied the claims and said the unaudited accounts for March 1996 showed a profit. Margaret Moore was unavailable for comment.
Rapid Gen specialises in software development and was set up in 1975.
