Protege imbued with three spirit

The devilish duo of Alistair Handyside and Larry Levy at Protege (PC Dealer, 31 July), turned into an infernal triangle as the company hired ex-Traveling Software managing director David Aldridge to complement the team.

Aldridge, who worked for Gold Disk before he started 10 days ago, said Protege will sign three more deals with large US software companies in the next two weeks.

Protege already has Softquad and Internet commerce company Icat under its wing, and is interested in companies with $500,000 or more to invest in Europe, according to Aldridge.

'We're setting up business partners who talk to customers who produce catalogues on the Web,' he said. 'We're looking for a whole lot of business partners, including the ISPs.' It has already signed Pipex here, on behalf of Icat.

Protege operates out of a former Delrina office in Borehamwood and is 'leveraging Levy and Handyside's skills in the US market', Aldridge said.
