Storage software developer DataCore has expanded its operations into the UK and is looking to the channel to help it grow.

Francis Glorie, director of DataCore's European operations, said: "When you move hardware, you get shrinking margins. We offer our integrators substantial value-added opportunities. The reseller is the prime candidate to support the client's growing installations."

Alistair Ward, senior product manager for reseller Kingswell, has jumped on the DataCore bandwagon. "They approached us in February of this year," he said. "We saw that SANsymphony went further than other products. There were more features for us to talk about, and more benefits to the customer."

According to Ward, the new SAN market offers clients more flexibility; resellers like Kingswell had to sell individual software solutions for different platforms.

"This is the gateway to the SAN," said Ward. "I don't have any proprietary equipment I have to use, so the customer has complete freedom of choice. It's much more open."
