CPU shortages push memory prices down
There's continuing uncertainty on the memory front. According to John Fenton, MD of distributor Osmosis, there are likely to be shortages of 4x4 Simms by the end of this month.
Fenton added that prices in the Far East and the US had already started falling.
But Sukh Rayat, general manager of Flashpoint, said he believed this situation is likely to change.
Shortages of CPUs, particularly Pentium Pro 200s, are hitting the market, Fenton said. This is because larger manufacturers are grabbing supplies while they can.
