Sage to recruit 100 partners

Vendor turns to channel for indirect drive

Sage has unveiled ambitious plans to recruit 100 additional VARs by September, as part of a renewed focus on the channel.

The vendor confirmed that it had already employed the services of a specialist recruitment agency to help draw up a profile of ideal potential VARs. Sage will then use this profile in its attempts to recruit the additional partners.

Mike Kelly, general manager of indirect channels at Sage UK, said: “We are currently looking for new business partners who are committed to growing their own business, driven and proactive. We want partners that are hungry for success.”

Tom O’Hara, regional managing director for TSG Scotland, told CRN that Sage was obviously looking to strengthen its brand.

“Having additional Sage partners may not be a bad thing,” he said. “It may cause everyone to raise their game.”
