AGP 'fed up' with Aztech

Andover-based AGP Distribution will dump multimedia vendor Aztech this week, claiming it is fed up with poor supply and unreliable products.

The peripherals distributor said it was responsible for a large proportion of Aztech sales, but has already replaced Aztech products with Hitachi CD-Rom drives and Typhoon sound card franchises.

Andy Turver, AGP MD, said: 'We were Aztech's top UK distributor but we have been disappointed by their inconsistent supply and products.'

Martin Soble, Aztech UK general manager, said: 'That's their opinion; there is always another side. Distributors often have high expectations of manufacturers that are rarely met. AGP is a valued distributor that performs a good function.'

Eight other distributors carry Aztech and the vendor is expected to sign another to replace AGP. Soble said he has recently added BLSI and CMS Peripherals to its distribution channel.
