Trustmarque fights cyber-bullies with Securus

VAR inks deal with e-safety vendor

Software licensing reseller Trustmarque Solutions has partnered with e-safety vendor Securus Software to target schools and help cut cyber-bullying in the UK.

Securus monitors ICT networks for inappropriate language and provides alerts if there is any unauthorised or inappropriate use of the facilities.

Rob Newburn, information security manager at Trustmarque Solutions, said: “With the rise of social networking and the greater dependence on technology in schools, there is a need for greater security to protect children from dangers such as cyber-bullying and online grooming.

“It is not enough to rely on Internet blocking software to keep students safe as blocking can be bypassed, while cyber-bullying and offline misuse goes undetected.”
Securus Software hopes the partnership with Trustmarque will increase sales of its technology.

Derek Allen, managing director of Securus, said: “Cyber-bullying and online grooming are increasingly issues of concern, and with the help of Trustmarque we will be able to extend our reach to ensure we can help protect more children across the UK from online dangers and increase awareness of e-safety.”
