Deep Blue in move to get its chips out

Memory distributor Deep Blue Technologies made a further attempt to recover components seized by the Wiltshire constabulary in the High Court last Monday. James Willard, Deep Blue MD, said the u500,000 of kit which the police seized in April was now worth only u55,000.

Deep Blue applied to the Queen's Remembrancer to force chief constable Walter Girven to return the stock, mostly memory. An application on 11 June failed when senior master Turner ruled the police's request for more time was justified.

Willard said Richard Needham, MP for North Wiltshire, had also raised the matter with the local police to no avail. 'If I read between the lines, I'd say the police want to pass this on to the Crown Prosecution Service,' he said.

Deep Blue is also applying for additional damages of almost u1 million.

Willard said: 'The police have retained possession since 30 April without even making a charge. They will claim they need more time to examine these microchips even though they have admitted they are untraceable.'
