Loudcloud launches in Europe

Web infrastructure provider Loudcloud, the brainchild of former Netscape executives Ben Horowitz and Marc Andreessen, launched in Europe today.

Web infrastructure provider Loudcloud, the brainchild of former Netscape executives Ben Horowitz and Marc Andreessen, launched in Europe today.

Competing with web integrators in the channel, the company is offering a fully managed IT infrastructure service direct to Fortune 2000 companies, application service providers and e-ventures.

Horowitz, chief executive, will speak at today's launch where he will discuss the impact of intelligent hosting and how Loudcloud's invention, Opsware automation technology, will benefit the European market.

By introducing its highly automated infrastructure to this country Loudcloud will assist with Tony Blair's Online Initiative by providing support and services new to the UK.

According to the company, Loudcloud's highly automated infrastructure services will provide a range of support and solutions which are not currently available to businesses in the UK.

In a statement, Horowitz said: "Our services are designed to help companies get to market faster than they would otherwise be able to."
