Centerprise joins Chaintech gang
Manufacturer recruits distributor to bolster UK presence
Leading graphics card and motherboard manufacturer Chaintech has enlisted system builder and distributor Centerprise to help boost its presence in the UK.
The deal will make Centerprise the second UK distributor of Chaintech cards, after VIP Computers, and reflects its growing success in the graphics card arena.
Chaintech is one of nVidia's key card partners and the deal represents Centerprise's first foray into selling nVidia-based cards. The distributor already has deals with ATI-based manufacturers Connect3D and Sapphire, and boasts sales of about 8,000 cards a month.
"It will make us even more appealing to retailers," said Dave Pye, head of Centerprise Distribution.
"Chaintech is a very attractive brand for Centerprise. It has a solid history and an exciting roadmap for the future, and its products are not over-distributed in the UK. There is room for market expansion.
"Centerprise has become a one-stop-shop for nVidia and ATI graphics cards, which will result in increased sales for both brands."
Ilona van Wichen, sales manager at Chaintech Europe, said: "The addition of a niche distributor such as Centerprise will further increase our market share and will open up new markets for our products."
Centerprise will distribute Chaintech's Apogee range of cards, which were boosted recently by the addition of the over-clocked Apogee AA6800 Turbo card for gaming enthusiasts.
Boasting nVidia's CineFX 3.0 and Ultrashadow II technology, the card comes with a generous bundle of games, video software and cables.
Based on nVidia's latest 6800 series of graphics processing units and aimed at gamers, the card is designed to topple ATI's high-end Radeons from the top of the performance card charts.
