Maverick receives AV stamp of approval
Maverick has achieved Certified Audio Visual Service Provider (CAVSP) accreditation
Audiovisual (AV) distributor Maverick, along with sister firm Plasma Screen Company (PSCo), has achieved Certified Audio Visual Service Provider (CAVSP) accreditation.
The certification is awarded by AV trade body, the International Communications Industries Association (ICIA), to organisations that have proven their expertise in AV sales and services through a process of education and assessment.
Jon Sidwick, Maverick’s group director, said: “The CAVSP accreditation has become the leading standard in America. It is the equivalent of being a CORGI-registered gas fitter in the UK. There are currently only 11 firms across Europe, including us, that are CAVSP-accredited.
“Gaining CAVSP accreditation has been high on our list of priorities as it gives our customers confidence in our technical expertise and ability to deliver a quality service,” he added.
Maverick’s trade rental business, PSCo, achieved Gold status, which means 75 per cent or more of its staff have passed the certification. To date, Maverick has put 27 staff through certification, giving it standard accreditation status.
The accreditation process involves staff members being educated to ICIA foundation course standard and gaining Certified Technology Specialists certification.
“The CAVSP accreditation scheme enables customers to find companies with a strong level of technical AV expertise,” added Sidwick.
Colin Messenger, senior business consultant at Decision Tree Consulting, said: “It is unusual for a distributor to go to these lengths – resellers are the ones that normally aim to become accredited. The CAVSP accreditation will provide peace of mind for resellers buying from Maverick and also for resellers’ customers.”
