Apple iPad sales get Motion moving on up
Tablet PC vendor claims iPad launch has re-invigorated its channel
Nigel Owens: Users have a better understanding of slate
Tablet PC vendor Motion Computing has credited the launch of the Apple iPad for making its products an easier sell for VARs.
The vendor said the hype surrounding the iPad has made consumers more accepting of touch-screen computing.
The firm is currently recruiting partners to drive its latest offerings, the F5V Field Tool and C5V Mobile Clinical Assistant, which went on sale this month.
Nigel Owens, vice president of worldwide sales at Motion Computing, said: “End users have a better level of understanding of slate computing now because of the iPad, which is making it easier for our resellers when approaching new business.”
Owens said the company would be looking for partners to increase coverage in all vertical markets, especially retail.
Paul Moxham, head of mobility sales at Motion distribution partner Box Technologies, said his firm will be helping the vendor with its recruitment plans.
“The products are designed specifically for use in vertical markets,” he said. “So, by definition, we will be targeting resellers that operate in these areas and have experience in mobile applications.”
