VIP expands web site content for resellers
Distributor doubles size of one-stop-shop information resource for its Microsoft partners
Distributor VIP Computer Centre is celebrating the success of its recently launched informative web site by expanding the amount of information available to its system builders.
The ‘Accelerate with Microsoft’ microsite was launched in April for system builders and retailers, with VIP billing it as a one-stop shop for Microsoft partners looking to buy and sell OEM software.
The site already offers free advice, FAQs, updated product information and jargon-busters, and now VIP has doubled the number of pages on offer.
Resellers will be able to find new sections on the site offering marketing materials, training advice, competitions, news and events. Also, some of the existing pages have had new material added, including Windows Vista sales kits and instructional videos on how to buy and sell the 2007 Office System.
Alan Patterson, product manager at VIP, told CRN: “This updated version of the ‘Accelerate with Microsoft’ web site provides VIP’s customers with even more resources to help them effectively sell Microsoft’s latest software products and make the most margin.
“There are now marketing materials and new selling guides that can be downloaded directly from the site, along with the very latest information on training and selling initiatives from Microsoft. We will be continuing to update this site regularly over the coming months to ensure it remains a primary online resource for the Microsoft OEM reseller channel.”
Tim Schroder, Microsoft UK OEM channel sales manager, said: “Microsoft is supporting the ‘Accelerate with Microsoft’ web site; it is a great way for VIP’s customers to get access to sales and marketing tools, which will enable them to maximise revenue opportunities for existing and new Microsoft products, such as Windows Vista and Office 2007.”
The site’s new training section shows resellers how to become a Microsoft OEM system builder and sign up for Microsoft-approved training sessions.
The marketing materials page features web links to download, or order, a range of marketing tools, from product images and logos to web banners and evaluation software.
