Trisys and Kingswell join forces

VARs merge to strenthen position in the market

Storage resellers TriSys and Kingswell Data Management have merged operations.

The two VARs, which are both part of the 2escape2 reseller group (CRN 26 September), said in a statement that the merger, which took effect at the beginning of March, would enable the combined company to provide an "enhanced solutions and services" range.

The firm will operate under the TriSys name and Richard Jackson, formerly managing director of TriSys, has left to pursue outside interests. He will be succeeded by Chris Hervey, who will be responsible for managing the merged business.

"In order to maximise the combined technical skills and excellent in-depth strength and experience of the two teams, we have decided to bring these organisations together," said Hervey in a statement.

Mark Blowers, senior research analyst at the Butler Group said: "For smaller VARs it can sometimes be hard to get past providing just the boxes and by merging with a larger VAR they then get the additional services and infrastructure support, as well as the stability."
