Digby Jones arises at IT recycling firm
Former CBI boss to mentor Morecambe-based asset retirement specialist ShP
The UK IT channel can count another knight among its fraternity following news that former CBI boss Lord Digby Jones has taken on a role at IT recycling firm ShP.
Jones, who was knighted for his services to business in 2005, will serve as special adviser to ShP, an IT and telecoms asset retirement specialist which operates a 65,000 sq ft facility in Morecambe.
In his new role, Jones will advise ShP on its growth and strategy for 2013/14, imparting the knowledge he has picked up during his four decades in business.
"Innovation, brand quality and sheer hard work are the components required for 21st century success and ShP has them by the bucketful," said Jones (pictured above, centre, with ShP directors Simon Walsh and Craig Smith).
"I am proud to become special adviser to ShP and I am looking forward to supporting the management team to promote further growth and champion the company as a great British business."
ShP sales director Walsh added: "Small, growing businesses are the grass roots upon which economic growth relies and with his outstanding track record we are confident we will develop our growth strategy significantly."
