What has been your business highlight of 2022?

Graphite Capital's acquisition of Digital Space, which positions us very well for the next phase of our growth and evolution. I'm very pleased that my management team and I will continue to lead the business, with a strong focus on organic growth, along with strategic acquisitions to meet customers' ongoing digital transformation and for secure, connected cloud managed services.

If you were ruler of your own country, what law would you introduce first?

"The law of kindness and support." Taking the time to get to know people in the work environment (and on a personal level) can provide a much-needed wider perspective on individual and business-related challenges and opportunities - allowing the ability to support in a deeper and more meaningful way.

Which channel or tech leader (outside of your own company) has impressed you most in 2022?

We continue to work in challenging economic times, requiring optimism, empathy and consistency from all leaders. We are blessed in our industry to have many such leaders who have impressed for multiple years and decades.

If you had a warning label, what would it say?

"Contains openness." While initially it can be disarming to some, I believe that openness and honesty is paramount in establishing authentic relationships, support and trust - traits that our brilliant industry is built upon.

What was your first job?

Sales support at Computacenter - in my opinion, one of the best training grounds in the industry.

What was the last book you read, and was it any good?

Shoe Dog - a very honest story of the trials and triumphs of building and running a business, by Phil Knight (the founder of Nike).

What's the most important lesson you've learned from another business leader or mentor?

There are a few - "Maintain the aim and morale" is a key military principle which applies to every business, and Peter Drucker's "culture eats strategy for breakfast" always resonates. But "Keep it simple" is the main principle that I try and work towards in executing our Digital Space strategy.

Who would play you in a movie of your life?

Jaden Smith - those who know, will know why!
