End-point security vendor Promisec is hoping to woo partners into joining its channel programme with the incentive of a free security audit.
Last year, Promisec entered the UK market with the appointment of Real Solutions as its first UK channel partner. The vendor told CRN it wanted between six and 10 partners on board by the end of the year.
Ari Tammam, vice-president of channel marketing for Promisec, said: “Unfortunately, we had to put things on hold so Real Solutions is still our only partner. However, we’ve just appointed a UK country manager who will help us recruit new partners. We’d like between six and 10 on board within the next 12 months.”
Dino Constantinou joined Promisec as UK country manager a month ago from security vendor Check Point.
Promisec’s onsite security audit service identifies end-point threats. Normally priced at more than £5,000, it will be offered free of charge for networks with up to 1,000 users.
“We want to give our partners a competitive advantage, so will probably offer it free of charge at least until the end of the year,” Tammam said. “End-point security is just starting to take off in the UK so we wanted to give VARs a foot in the door with customers. Our audit makes it easier for partners to offer the right security solution to customers.”
Ed Blake, head of e-security at Real Solutions, said: “When prospective customers understand the threats to their internal network, they are more likely to take action to prevent security issues from materialising. The Promisec service enables us to provide greater value to customers.”
