Networking vendor Strix Systems has signed distributor React Technologies, after parting company with existing distributor Northamber.
Raphael Lignier, EMEA managing director at Strix Systems, said the move was motivated by React’s focus on wireless LAN products.
“The Northamber relationship was not producing the results we were expecting. Northamber was too big for us and we were not getting the right attention. React is smaller and have done some good work with [wireless networking firm] Aruba,” said Lignier.
Jess Thompson-Hughes, managing director at React Technologies, said: “It is not Northamber’s fault, it is just that their business model does not fit these products. Strix provide a niche product that is not ready for mass distribution yet.”
David Hennell, commercial manager at Northamber, said: “The relationship did not blossom as their technology is ahead of the game.We are interested in these products, but the technology is very specialist. This product needs SME acceptance first.”
