Computer 2000 (C2000) is defying predictions of a drop-off in the retail market next year by increasing its presence in the space.
Group marketing director Andy Dow will head up and grow a team of retail experts that will develop special programmes and tools to support high-street chains and independent retailers.
The team includes former head of consumer at Samsung Print Division, Geoff Hart, as retail account director and Jim Barnes as business development director.
Speaking to CRN, Dow said: “Every year people say this will be the last year that retail booms, but consumer spend will not stop. During the downturn, business spending tailed off and consumers continued to spend. It is an exciting market to be in.”
The retail offering will cover C2000’s full range including PCs, components, software, audiovisual, phones and networking products.
