More 250GB hard drive notebooks sold in Western Europe last month than ever before, according to Context

Western Europe snapped up more 250GB hard disk drive (HHD) capacity PC notebooks in August than ever before, research has revealed.

Sales of 250GB notebooks through distribution in five countries – France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and the UK, outstripped 160GB and 120GB for the first time last month, according to market watcher Context.

The 250GB drives achieved 23 per cent of the market, with 160GB registering 22 per cent and 120GB accounting for 21 per cent of sales.

In fourth place was 80GB notebooks with 10 per cent market share and the massive 320GB notebooks accounted for eight per cent of the market.
