Vendor makes Trax into Europe

Vendor reveals plans to move further into the consumer market

Flash memory vendor TraxData is looking to boost its European market share by enticing retailers to sell its products.

The vendor, which is owned by optical storage manufacturer Ritek, is looking to move further into the consumer market.

Guido Liber, sales and marketing director at TraxData, said: “The market started to change in 2005, and the smaller brands found it tougher to do business. We realised we were good in the volume channel, but we wanted to grow our share in the retailer space.”

TraxData is aiming to start with the larger volume retailers, the consumer electronic retailers and supermarkets, and shops such as WH Smith.

“We don’t want to take our focus off of our business to business sector, we want to continue to grow this,” he said. “We can develop different items in the short term because we are the manufacturer, more of our rivals OEM their products. This means the retailers can differentiate themselves from their rivals with our offerings.”
