Life begins at 50 for TallyGenicom
Printer vendor TallyGenicom has surpassed its target of signing 50 resellers
Printer vendor TallyGenicom has surpassed its target of signing 50 resellers to its Commission for Life channel programme, but has said it is not closings its doors.
The vendor’s target was to recruit between 40 and 50 resellers to the scheme (CRN, 28 February). Tally-Genicom had signed 40 resellers by August (CRN, 8 August) but has since signed a further 13.
“We’ve been pleasantly surprised by the take-up as its shows that a lot of resellers do miss out on after sales consumables on printers,” said Tally-Genicom’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, Robin Edwardes.
“We originally set a target of between 40 and 50 resellers but we haven’t closed the doors yet – we may stop at 60. It is a very new channel programme and if resellers don’t perform well, we will consider letting them go to open up a place for a more dedicated partner,” said Edwardes.
“It’s an ultra competitive market and tough for everyone. We’re trying to position ourselves as a service-led vendor. We have our own service engineers which differentiates us from our competitors,” Edwards added.
Lee Bevan, managing director of reseller Leapfrog Computers, said: “The amount of rebate we have received from the programme has been fantastic. I really cannot fault the scheme.”
